About S.P.A.P

Hi, my name is Mary Ransom. After losing my daughter from domestic violence in 2017, I was inspired to bring awareness to my community to help stop it and prevent another family tragedy. Then, in 2021, I lost my son to gun violence. This devastated my family. My community was there to support me in every way. I am forever grateful to them all. This then led me to create a wider network to connect with other parents and family members. We supported each other through connections, events and prayer. Since then, I’ve had the honor of meeting and sharing my purpose with families across the state. My purpose is to help stop domestic and gun violence, pausing to think, reflect and pray for God’s help and healing hands.

Our Mission is to bring awareness to the nation and local communities we reside in. I want to make my voice heard and to assist in changing the lives of those mothers and children that have been impacted by this senseless violence that has taken over our nation. We at S.P.A.P would like to let the mothers, fathers & children know that it’s ok to grieve. We believe that if we Stop Pause & Pray without ceasing for our families and especially for our kids, we will become a better, nation and community.

“The LORD is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in Him.”
